Next SNC-CDS Chapter meeting Tuesday June 13th 6:30PM Cattlemens restaurant

Well, its that time of year again when everyone is getting back in to the groove. Show season is upon us and in full swing. We’ve already added an additional show to the calendar and we have word of several clinics that will be added on as well.

Before we move on, just want to say good luck to everyone heading off to shows this weekend. Quite a few of our members go to DG Bar this time every year and there are also a number of folks heading to the Starr Vaughn show – Good Luck Everyone!

UNR Show Reminder

Please be aware that the show on May 20th at UNR is very rapidly approaching. The closing date is May 12th, this Friday. Entries must be POSTMARKED by this date so you still have time to get yours out if you’ve forgotten. Please remember to send in a completed entry form with all signatures, copies of your cards and payment.

Volunteers are still needed for the May show. If you can volunteer please contact Mary Ann Christensen at maryac@unr.edu

June Show at Franktown

The June Dressage Classic at Franktown Meadows will be held June 10th and 11th. We are in the process of getting the prize list up on the web site and Phyllis has promised to have the entry forms to us soon for posting as well.

Please be aware, this show is a USEF, USDF, CDS recognized show. It is NOT an SNC show. If you have questions about your entry, ride time, stabling or the show in general, please review the prize list and contact the show manager or appropriate person.

Congratulations!

Congratulations to Tish Hickstead and Iron Reign! They will be heading to Lilo Fore’s Sport Horse America Stables for the Northern CDS Amateur Clinic June 8-11th. The clinic format starts with an introductory lecture session the evening prior to the first day of the clinic and three days of riding sessions. We hope you have a great time Tish and we’d love to hear about your experience when you get back!

Dressage in the Sierra

Believe it or not, we are already working on plans for this year’s Dressage in the Sierra. This year the show will be held at Franktown Meadows instead of Livestock but we’re hoping to make it just as great as it always has been. The Board has been hard at work figuring out how to keep this show up to the standards it has held in years past. We have some terrific ideas as well!

We’ll be getting the DITS Sponsorship form back up on the web site soon. Sponsorships from chapter members, their families and friends, and local professionals and businesses are essential to maintaining the show’s tradition of excellence. If you, or someone you know would like to be a sponsor, we’d love to hear from you. An announcement will be made as soon as the forms are up!

Scholarship Fund

We are looking at setting up a scholarship committee to benefit the Adult Amateur and Junior membership. The idea is that we will have a system to collect funds specifically for education on an applied for basis for Adult Amateur and Junior membership. The specific structure has not been established as of yet. If anyone is interested in participating on the committee, please contact Beth at curle@mindspring.com

Volker Bromman Clinic Schedule

Vicki is in the process of putting out a clinic schedule for Volker. We will be posting the schedule to the Calendar page of the web site as well as sending out an email with the dates as soon as we receive them.
