Salute!

My apologies for getting the newsletter out so late this time. September seems to have flown by in a blur and after winding down from Dressage in the Sierra I've finally managed to catch up ~ sorry for the delay!

Championships

As everyone already knows, the 2007 Championships are coming up October 11th-14th at Woodside in California. Congratulations to everyone who has qualified! Well done!

It would be great to hear back from everyone after the show as to how members felt about the Woodside location, facility, accomodations, arenas,... basically everything, since this is such a big/controversial venue change. For those going, please share your experience with the group when you get back! We'll look forward to the feedback.

Once again, good luck everyone!

Dressage in the Sierra Review

Dressage in the Sierra was again a great success this year. Many thanks to everyone who helped make it a fantastic show again this year. We couldn't do it without the generosity and willingness of our membership. Thank you!

In case you missed it, DITS results are posted on the "show info" page of the web site.

Next year, Dressage in the Sierra will be held in July to make it more accommodating for those members trying to get earlier qualifying scores. In addition, our august show will be a 3-star show which we hope will provide more opportunities for people to qualify. The April show will remain a 1-star show. We've also heard rumor of more 1-star shows put on by Equest Training Center next year so there should be lots of showing and qualifying opportunities in our area without having to travel over the hill.

2008 Elections

2008 Elections will be coming up soon and we'd like to strongly encourage folks to get involved. There are lots of positions to fill and this is a great opportunity to have your say in decisions that affect the chapter. If you're interested let any one of the current Board members know. We'd LOVE to see some new faces!!

2007 Annual Holiday Party and Awards Dinner

We're in the process of ironing out details for the Annual Holiday Party and Awards Dinner. Avalon Friesians has offered to be our host facility this year. Dates and details will be coming out soon. Meanwhile, if you're wondering whether or not you met the qualifying criteria for SNC Awards, please visit the Awards Program information page for details.

Pumpkin Roll Update

I recently sent out an email about the Pumpkin Roll. This is a Reno Chapter show and in the past we've posted their show information to the SNC web site. Phyllis has asked if we can do this again this year. Im just waiting to hear back from her for some minor details and if we are a "go", entries will be posted to the site. I will send out an email either way as soon as I hear from Phyllis.

If anyone has any interesting stories or information for inclusion in the newsletter please submit it to snc-cds@charter.net. Write to me with some of your personal stories that you would like to share.
